Schuylkill Expected to Hit Flood Levels by Afternoon

Flood warning in effect for Schuylkill River.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood Warning for the Schulykill River at Norristown beginning at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday until the warning is cancelled. At 3:30 a.m., the river was at 12.5 feet and flood stage is 13 feet. Minor flooding is expected, with the river expected to continue to rise and near the flood level by this afternoon.

According to the NWS, the river is expected to fall below the flood stage by Tuesday night. However, at 13 feet, the water will begin to cover and close Riverbend Boulevard in West Norriton.
