UPDATE: Sue Soriano Running on the Ballot?

The candidate's email correspondence with Patch.com addresses her run for municipal council.

The republican candidate for Norristown’s municipal council, registered democrat Sue Soriano, sent an email to Patch.com this afternoon that called into question whether she was still in the running.

After Patch reached out Tuesday morning to Soriano about election day, she replied Tuesday, writing: “I am currently out of the state. Personal matters have kept me away the political campaign. I tried to withdraw my name, but it was too late.”

According to John Kelemen, Executive Director of the Montgomery County Republican Committee (MCRC), Soriano won the republican primary this spring, but she is a registered democrat. MCRC assists registered republicans.

After Patch published an article about the situation, Soriano later replied to Patch, writing that “Winning is a very long shot considering I didn't campaign at all. If that happens; I am planning on fulfilling my duties.”
