2014 Norristown Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event

Please join us for a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event hosted by the Philly WAM Girls and benefiting the Laurel House Shelter of Norristown. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® is the international men's march which encourages men to walk one mile in high-heeled shoes to protest rape, sexual assault & gender violence.

This event will raise funds for the operational cost of Laurel House in providing shelter, counseling, legal and medical advocacy, client and community education, children's programs, housing and transitional support, and violence prevention for victims of abuse and their children both in shelter and those remaining in the community who are living with abuse and violence.

The walk will be held rain or shine at Norristown Farm Park. Registration for the event opens at noon on March 1st and will run through midnight on May 2nd.  Registration can be completed on the event website http://philly-wam-girls.eventbrite.com and both men and women are invited to participate. Children under the age of 16 can walk for free and do not need to formally register.

This event will be emceed by Philadelphia radio personality Preston Elliot and Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele will be a guest speaker.
