International Day

The
Upper Merion Farmers Market will host its first annual International Day on
Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ann Ward, a Monarch butterfly
educator, will have an interactive Winged Wonders booth to teach patrons about
the migratory pattern of the Monarchs from Canada to Mexico.

The market will
also feature Mexican folk dancers and Bollywood dance performers, as well as a
craft and display booth with origami, calligraphy, kimonos, maps of various
countries for children to color, and a sampling of ethic foods.

This
week’s artisans are Edna Rambo who produces hand-crafted stoneware pottery, and
Doug Winch who produces custom glass hangings and candle holders crafted from
wine bottles. For young patrons, Silly Reba will be on hand to create a variety
of balloon art figures. The market’s musical guest this week is the band March
Lye.
