The Montgomery County Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) brings their Halloween Step Show and Battle of the Bands to the Norristown Area High School on Friday, Nov. 1, where guests will be treated to step teams and bands while financially supporting local youth programs, according to a media release.
This is the OIC’s seventh annual such event and it will be held at the high school gymnasium. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and student tickets are $10, prepaid.
All tickets may be purchased at the high school or the OIC building. Pre-paid tickets may be preferable to avoid long waits in line to purchase them at the door, and to avoid tickets possibly being sold out.
The night will highlight step teams from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) as well as regional step teams from the greater-Philadelphia area.
Teams include Lincoln University Marching Band, North Philly Foot Stompers, Cheyney University Marching Band, the Finest Drill Team and others. Groups from sororities and fraternities from these local colleges will also compete. They will battle to be deemed the best local HBCU band.
Raffle tickets to win new Norristown Area School District stadium chairs will be available. Promotional tables will be set up, where free items and pamphlets will be distributed. All event proceeds will go towards the high school’s athletic stadium and the OIC’s youth programs.
The Norristown Area High School is located at 1900 Eagle Drive in Norristown, PA.
