Haws Avenue United Methodist Church Open for Blue Christmas Service on Saturday
The church invites the community to come and celebrate and find peace.
Haws Avenue United Methodist Church in Norristown invites the community to join in their Blue Christmas Service Saturday afternoon, where participants can share in this peace-filled ceremony by lighting a candle for a loved one and purchasing a Love Light Tree for a small fee, which will remain lit through the holiday season, according to Lisa Bova, a member of the church.
The service, which will be held from 3-4 p.m., has two parts. In the first part, participants can purchase a love light for $10, in honor of loved ones, for the Love Light Tree outside of the church’s Marshall Street oak doors The tree will remain lit through the holiday season.
The second part is the service, which the church hopes that guests will partake in. During the service, participants can light candles in memory of loved ones who have passed away.
