Fatal Limerick Crash Caused by Medical Emergency
Spring City teacher Stephen Bruno had a heart attack while driving on N. Lewis Road, causing him to crash into vehicles at Piazza Honda in Limerick.
A heart attack caused the Jan. 8 Limerick crash that killed Western Montgomery County Career and Technology Center teacher Stephen Bruno, of Spring City, according to Limerick Township Police.
Police Chief William Albany said Bruno suffered heart attack while driving his red Mercury Mountaineer on N. Lewis Road around 3:30 p.m., causing him to veer suddenly into the Piazza Honda parking lot.
Bruno’s vehicle then launched off a snow bank in the dealership’s parking lot and crashed into several cars, shearing the roof off of one sedan.

Bruno, an automotive teacher who formerly served as a police officer in Philadelphia, was taken via Trappe ambulance to Pottstown Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bruno’s funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. John the Baptist Church in Roxborough.
