Obituary: Leo S. Chapla, 89
He was the Norristown State Hospital Director of Social Services from 1965 to 1985.
Leo S. Chapla, 89, died on Nov. 16 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was a World War II veteran, having served as a Pharmacist's Mate 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy, and earning the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the American Campaign Medal. Ha received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work degrees from University of Pittsburgh, and served as the Norristown State Hospital Director of Social Services from 1965 to 1985.
