Cougar...Jaguar...whatever it is, It's a Large Animal...In Our Backyards

I live in the East Norriton section of Norristown, off of Rahway by Johnson Hwy. My neighbors have informed me a couple weeks back that they noticed a "mountain lion" sitting outside of my house one evening. Typically I would question something like this, but my neighbor grew up in Northern Cali and is VERY familiar with mountain lions/cougars/pumas...whatever you want to call them. I started to ask others in the "complex" if they've seen something like this. Unfortunately they have, but most did not know what they were looking at when they saw it. The common response was that they thought they saw a fox initially, but the animal was way too big to be a fox.

Now mind you, my neighbors said they saw this mountain lion on my property TWICE. Naturally, my wife and I are paranoid. With the snow storms coming, this was an opportunity to see the proof - paw prints. And yes, after the snow storms, my neighbors and I noticed a new trails of tracks, daily...this animal (which is obviously large based on the paw prints) was on my property and at least three other neighbors' properties NIGHTLY. We called police...and the township folks. They came out to our homes and to the park across the street from us. They DID confirm that this was a large cat. However, they had to confirm this with the gaming warden. (This was a Friday mind you). They (township and police) said that they would warn the neighbors, put flyers up, etc. They apparently, however, told my neighbors to keep media out of it.

By Sunday, we saw nothing. There was no activity, except for a township worker or two walking around looking at prints. But there was NOTHING to alert everyone here (in this "complex"). We have kids walking to and from the bus stop. What about the people in general??? We called police again about the new prints we saw on Sunday morning, and Officer Soto calls back informing us that she was told to let us know that it's just a "big dog". NO WAY!!!!!!!! These pics (attached) are not of a big dog. WHO ELSE HAS SEEN THIS??? And WHY are police ignoring this??????? We heard one escaped the Elmwood Zoo a couple years ago...is this it????
