18-Year-Old Charged After Oct. Riverside Apartment Shooting

Troy Walker is accused of shooting a man in the face in October.

Norristown police have arrested and charged a man in connection to an alleged shooting and motor vehicle robbery that left one man shot in the face and laying on the ground by the Riverside Apartments in Norristown on Oct. 20.

After a joint investigation of Norristown police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, Troy Walker, 18, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 18 and charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery of motor vehicle, Aggravated Assault and Firearm violations, say police. 

According to police Walker has lived in Norristown and Pottstown. Online court documents list his current address as Pottstown.

The charges follow an October 20 incident where Norristown police, responding to a report of shots fired, arrived on scene at the Riverside Apartments the 100 block of Schuylkill Avenue to find the victim, J. Stephen Marczuk, on the ground with a gunshot in his face, and later tried to track the suspect after he had fled.

The victim is recovering from his injuries caused by a bullet bellow his left eye during the October incident.

Walker is also charged with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer after he allegedly stole Marczuk’s vehicle and crashed it into a Norristown Police officer’s car after the officer had responded to the shooting.

Walker is currently incarcerated in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility on in lieu of $250,000 bail.
