West Norriton Police are looking for two men they say robbed a local woman at gunpoint in front of her home Tuesday night.
According to police, the 34-year-old woman was walking through the parking lot in front of her home in the 200 block of Centre Avenue at approximately 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, when she noticed two men she did not recognize in the lot in front of her.
As she reached the rear of the lot, one of the men allegedly accosted her and put a black semi-automatic pistol to her head, demanding she give him all of her money. The other man allegedly approached her from behind and went through her pants and jacket pockets. According to the victim, the man pushed her to the ground when he could not find anything on her. The men did take her cell phone.
As the victim lie on the ground, screaming and still being held at gunpoint, a witness reportedly pulled into the parking lot and observed the scene. The witness immediately called 9-1-1.
The two alleged robbers then reportedly took off on foot south through the parking lot towards West Marshall Street. Officers searched the area with the aid of a K-9 unit and also interviewed employees of nearby businesses, but could find no trace of the men. Attempts to locate the phone through the mobile service provider was also unsuccessful.
Both suspects are described as black males in their early- to mid-twenties, 6' tall with medium complexions. One was described as wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and the other a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about this incident should contact the West Norriton Police Department at 610-630-1701.
