Alleged Public Intoxication This Week, According to Police

Norristown police responded to at least three instances of people who are alleged to have been unconscious and intoxicated in public this week, say police.

Norristown police responded twice this week to a man supposedly passed out by the Montgomery county courthouse, and once to another man supposedly passed out on Haws Avenue, according to a Norristown police report.

Sept. 30, 4:54 a.m.: Norristown police went to the Montgomery county courthouse to see about a man passed out on the sidewalk, say police, and they arrived to see John Zielinski down on the sidewalk, passed out, say police. According to police he appeared to be quite inebriated, with red eyes, emanating a smell of alcohol, and with wobbly speech, according to the report. Police took him to the police station to sober in a cell, say police.

Oct. 1, 1:32 a.m.: police went to the 300 block of Haws Avenue to see about a complaint about a man unconscious on the sidewalk, per the report. The officers arrived and saw a man who they recognized as Daryl Lucky unconscious on the walkway, police say. Police reported that he had red eyes and the smell of alcohol emanated from him, and they reported that they needed to help him remain standing upright, say police. Police decided that he was intoxicated to the point where it was unsafe, and took him to the police station to sober, according to the report.

Oct. 2, 12:55 a.m.: Norristown police went to the Montgomery county courthouse to respond to a person who was supposedly inebriated, say police. Police found John Zielinski unconscious on a courtyard bench, per the report. Police decided that he was very inebriated, with red eyes and wobbly speech, say police. Police noted that a smell of alcohol and emanated from him, and they took him to the police station to sober, according to the report.
