Armed Suspects Rob Plymouth Meeting Burger King, Shut Victims in Freezer

Plymouth Police have charged three Philadelphia men with the crime after they were arrested in Conshohocken.

Three Philadelphia men are in police custody, after authorities say they robbed the at 409 West Ridge Pike in Plymouth Meeting, early Thursday morning.

Edward David Cottle, of 2938 Westmont Street, Charles Robinson, of 736 North 38th Street, and James McDuffie, of 3722 Wallace Street, have each been charged with robbery, terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime, assault, reckless endangerment, theft, altering serial numbers and related charges.

According the , officers responded to the report of a robbery at the store at approximately 4:51 a.m. on Thursday, Aug 2. Police spoke to the victims, who described the suspects as two black males, at least one of whom was armed with a handgun. The victims told police that after the robbery, the suspects forced them into the restaurant's freezers and fled.

While Plymouth Police were conducting an investigation at the scene, a officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Fayette Street. The officer pulled the vehicle over and saw a firearm inside the passenger compartment, the report said.

The victims were then transported to the scene of the stop where they positively identified the suspects.

Plymouth Township detectives executed a search warrant of the vehicle and found additional, unspecified evidence directly linking the suspects to the crime, police said.

The suspects are awaiting arraignment.
