Driver Arrested in Sunday Night Hit and Run in KOP

The pedestrian was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with head injuries.

Reports came in of a pedestrian struck at the 400 block of South Gulph Road in King of Prussia shortly after 11 p.m. on Sunday night and it was soon learned that the driver had fled the scene of the accident.

According to 6ABC Action News, police have the driver, who has not been identified, in custody. The unidentified victim was medevaced to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania an listed in serious condition.

Norristown Patch reader Dennis O'Donnell told Patch via Facebook that Upper Merion Police had posted an alert that authorities were searching for a white work van in connection with the hit and run incident. Police reportedly located that van 20 minutes later in an unnamed King of Prussia motel parking lot.
