Early Morning Car Fire on Friday Under Investigation, Say Authorities

Police were searching for a white or Hispanic man carrying a bag.

A car was on fire behind a building on East Elm Street Friday morning around 6:30 a.m., say police.

According to Norristown fire chief Thomas M. O'Donnell, Fire Department personnel were on scene, attending to the car, which was at the rear of a building on the 100 block of East Elm Street.

It is said that a man was running from the scene, and law enforcement were looking for a white or Hispanic man who was carrying a bag, according to police.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation, say police.
