Its occupants, Sonata Ann Wooten, 73, and passenger Carlton Wooten, 84, of the 100 block of Mill Road, Norristown, were extricated from the car by crews at Centre Square Fire Co., police said. The Wootens were taken via ambulance to Paoli Hospital, police said.

A third man—Brian Heron, 51, of Quakertown—was flown by PennStar to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment of injuries, police said.

Sonata Wooten told police that she was driving the Hyundai, when traffic stopped suddenly, and she could not stop in time, police said.

Wooten swerved to miss a 2002 F250, driven by Heron, police said, which was stopped ahead of her in traffic.

DeKalb Pike was closed for an hour, police said.
