Fire at DeKalb Apartments in East Norriton

Firefighters are battling a blaze at DeKalb Apartments in East Norriton near Mercy Suburban Hospital.

UPDATE: [8:45 a.m.] Breaking News Network has reported that the fire that started in the basement of a six-story apartment building at DeKalb Apartments has been brought under control. 

Emergency medical services are reportedly on the scene treating victims of smoke inhalation. No serious injuries were reported in the incident.

Smoke is reportedly still present on the scene up through the second floor.

Original Story:

Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 7:30 a.m. to a reported building fire at DeKalb Apartments, 2615 DeKalb Pike in East Norriton. Units are on the scene now in what the Breaking News Network has reported is a possible entrapment situation.

Firefighters are on the scene now conducting a search and rescue operation in the building according to scanner traffic.
