Firefighters Make Quick Work of W. Lafayette St. Fire

No injuries were reported in a fire that reportedly started in the basement of a West End home.

Firefighters responded to a report of a building fire shortly before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the 900 block of West Lafayette Street. Initial reports gave the affected address as 924 West Lafayette, but the fire was actually located a few doors down at 928 West Lafayette.

According to The Times Herald, units from Jefferson, Norriton, Plymouth and Whitpain fire companies joined the Norristown Fire Department to quickly dispatch a fire that started in the basement of the home.

No injuries were reported in the incident and a cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
