Norristown Patch contributor Chuck Springer was on the scene on West Main Street in Norristown this afternoon and witnessed a multi-car accident that had traffic at a crawl for a short time as and emergency medical responders from Plymouth Ambulance worked to clear the scene.
According to Springer, the accident occurred at approximately 12:17 p.m. on West Main Street between Haws Avenue and Stanbridge Street when a passenger van turning onto Main St. from Knox St. caused an oncoming car to swerve. That started a chain of events that led to four cars being involved in the crash.
Police and emergency medical responders arrived on the scene almost immediately. Paramedics checked out everyone involved and no one reported any serious injuries.
Traffic was crawling, but still moving as the scene was cleared. One passenger car needed to be towed away, having lost both bumpers and its rear left wheel.
