Suspect in Several Norristown Shootouts Arrested in Philadelphia

Kyree Wells is facing gun-related charges in connection with several shooting incidents in Norristown in December 2012.

A 21-year-old Norristown man wanted by police on receiving stolen property and gun-related charges, was taken into custody on Tuesday by Philadelphia Police.

According to Norristown Police Det. Lt. Michael Crescitelli, Philadelphia officers were conducting a traffic stop on Kyree Wells when a routine check revealed the active warrant. Wells is also reportedly wanted by Montgomery County Adult Probation.

Wells is believed to be involved in several shootings in Norristown in December 2012 and is facing firearm-related charges after police executing a search warrant on his home found guns, ammunition and drug paraphernalia, police said. He is currently being transported to Norristown for arraignment.

According to Crescitelli, Wells was one of two men involved in an alleged . That shootout sent a Philadelphia man to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Wells reportedly told police at the time that he was sitting in a vehicle in the 110 block of West Airy Street on Dec. 21 when he was shot at by the Philadelphia man. He denies having returned fire.

"[Wells] is currently not being charged with the shooting that night," Lt. Crescitelli wrote Norristown Patch in December. "Nor is he a suspect in the homicide [of Paul Brown.]

Brown was killed in Norristown on Christmas night.

Wells also reportedly told police that he was shot at early Wednesday morning in the area of Arch and East Oak streets. According to Lt. Crescitelli, the suspect told police he believed there was a contract on his life relating to the Oct. 20 murder of Ryan Ladson-Singleton. It is still unclear what the nature of the suspect's involvement in that crime might be.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents is asked to contact the Norristown Police Department at 610-270-0977.

Bhrenda what exactly are you learning? Are you learning to work and stop commenting on everything as if you are St. Bhrenda. Another idiot on the blog talking about somebody with the perfect life.
Really March 27, 2013 at 05:01 PM
You people know so much, if you read the above, he is not being charged with MURDER or anything like that, so all the "hang him" and "hope he dies" is unnecessary. He should die because they found guns in his home? He should die because he received stolen property? Come on people…You all are a bunch of saints and have NEVER done anything wrong, right? Yeah I bet…take a look in the mirror, who are you to judge is probably what you’re saying to yourself…you may not be who you use to be BUT let’s not forget! There is ONLY one person who can judge and it’s NONE of you people who be on this darn patch. Thank GOD he was caught during a traffic stop because the way you guys talk about this dude, he is considered armed and dangerous so it could have been worse if Norristown cops would have caught him. I’ve heard of stories the way they treat you, NOT all of the cops but they know who they are…AND some of the comments is probably by Norristown cops…
Imagine March 27, 2013 at 06:42 PM
That's what they always do comment without reading the story. Jump to conclusions just from the bs said on the streets.
big jon March 27, 2013 at 08:11 PM
This guy has commited many crimes he has gotten away with...and we all know it lol. The many people defending him have done the same not all but a majority has. We need stiffer penalties for people with illegal guns, robbers and violent offenders. Society has no use for scum like him. Either kill him or send him to jail until he is 60+.

imagine wants to be my boo. You gotta have tattoos on your neck and have 5 kids outta wedlock before you can be my boo.
Toni March 29, 2013 at 03:07 PM
haha you're telling us not to judge him but admit that he's armed and dangerous. He's involved in shootings around Norristown. I'm going to judge the eff out of him. He's probably some scummy kid without a dad, didn't do good in school or care to, mom was a hoe or busy working all the time, and he needed money right? Same old story with all these criminals...yawn. >>He should die because he received stolen property? Maybe die is a harsh word, but yes definitely punished. I don't even live IN Norristown, just near it, and I've been the victim of a crime because of people from this area. I hope Bridgeport and Norristown just completely torn down, or that everyone living there is forcefully sterilized. Wish I never moved here.

U live by the _______ u die by the _______! Isn't that how the saying goes. If anyone was a victim of a shooting, robbery, or any other "accusations" that supposedly involved kyree. It was meant it wasn't a baby, it wasn't some innocent elderly civilian. It was thugs out here doing the same things i assume! Kyree was shot & wounded first but I guess that was okay. Gtfoh with all the sob stories. U only know 1 side & every story has 2! The same ppl commenting on here probably has sons or nephews out here in the mix of things, but I guess that's okay as long as their the ones dishing it out & not taking it in.
The optimist April 01, 2013 at 12:17 AM
Josh seems to know an awful lot. Maybe he should talk to the cops.
Josh April 01, 2013 at 09:59 PM
I know from the Norristown Patch. The optimist!
Josh April 01, 2013 at 10:02 PM
They put out all of this misinformation, so on that note maybe the patch should stop talking. I found out all this info that I heard from this website. I'm just not as foolish as the rest of you to believe everything I hear. Everybody in jail is not guilty!
