Man Allegedly Hit With Stick, Robbed of Cash, Police Say

Derrick Wallace told police that he was hit with a stick and robbed of money downtown in the early morning, according to police.

Norristown police were sought out at around 1 a.m. on Friday by a man, Derrick Wallace, who said that around 12:40 a.m. two men hit him with a stick and stole $20 from his pocket at Marshall Street and Markley Street, according to police.

Wallace told police that the men were African American and wore dark clothes, according to police.  Wallace, who in a police report was described as being intoxicated, was not able to furnish police with more information. He was taken in an ambulance to a local hospital due to his complaint that his leg hurt from being struck.
