Police continue to look for an alleged accomplice of Sprintz. Police unsuccessfully attempted to arrest Kevin Gilchrist, 38, at his Tree Street residence in Philadelphia on Friday morning and are continuing attempts to locate him.

Gilchrist is believed to be the previously unidentified man who entered the banks and presented tellers with demand notes during the May 15 and May 21 robberies.

Nobody was injured during any of the three bank robberies.

Prompt eyewitness report called "key"

Lower Providence Police Chief Francis Carroll credited the prompt actions of an eyewitness to the Thursday robbery "key" to identifying the suspects.

“The key point in this investigation was the awareness of a citizen seeing something that was out of the ordinary and immediately reporting it to the police.  That, coupled with the level of professional cooperation demonstrated by all of the law enforcement personnel from the various agencies, directly resulted in the identification of the individuals involved in these crimes.  With that being said, our work will not be done until the second suspect is in custody and both suspects are successfully prosecuted," Carroll said in a statement sent to the media.
