Man Hit Over Head and Had Wallet Taken, Say Police

A man told police that he was hit over the head multiple times before his wallet was taken in Norristown on Sept. 27, say police.

A man was allegedly hit on the head by two men who are said to have taken his wallet in an alley around the 600 Block of Kohn Street area in Norristown early in the morning, say police.

Norristown police and medics were sent to see about an assault complaint on Sept. 27 in an alley of the 600 Block of Kohn Street around 12 a.m., according to a police report. Police were told that the suspects, two African American men, were last seen running away towards Marshall Street, say police.

A medic began to treat the victim, who spoke Spanish, and a bilingual man who was there translated the victim’s words for the police, according to the report.

The victim said that, as he walked home from work, two African American men took him from behind, say police. The victim said that he was hit on the head with something multiple times, and that the men took his wallet, which contained his ID and some amount of cash, say police.

The alleged perpetrators were described to be thin, and around 6 feet tall, according to the report. One of them might have been wearing a green hooded jacket or sweatshirt, and pants that were dark, per the report. He is said to have worn sandals, say police. It is claimed that the other man was wearing dark clothes, according to the report.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, say police.
