Man Robbed at Gunpoint and Hit on Head With Gun, Say Police

A man standing on West Airy Street in Norristown was allegedly robbed at gunpoint, then hit on the head with the gun used to rob him, say police.

A man who was allegedly robbed at gunpoint on West Airy Street in Norristown was later taken to a hospital for treatment for a wound sustained during the robbery, say police.

The victim told police that he had been standing on the 100 block of West Airy Street on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. when two African American men came over to him, one about 5’10” of an average build, and wearing a red hoodie, and the other about 5’08” of an average build, and wearing a black and grey hoodie, according to a Norristown police report.

The victim told police that the man in the red hoodie held a black handgun to the victim’s head, and the other man rooted through the victim’s pockets, and took $160 in cash and the victim’s cell phone, say police.

The victim also told police that the man in the red hoodie hit the victim in the head with the gun, after which the two men ran east on Airy Street, say police.

An ambulance took the victim to a hospital to be treated for a cut on his forehead, according to the report.
