A woman told police that a man with a black star tattoo flashed a knife and took the contents of her purse as she was walking on Forest Avenue in Norristown, say police.
She told police that she was walking south on the 700 block of Forest Avenue in the early evening on Oct. 5 when a Hispanic man in a grey zip-up hoody came towards her, according to a Norristown police report.
According to the woman, the man wore the hood drawn tight around his face, to hide it; she did, however, say that she could see that he had a black tattoo shaped like a star on the front part of his neck, say police.
The woman said that the man had a knife with a black handle and black blade with the word “Fireman” marked on it, say police. The woman told police that he took her purse off of her shoulder and took out its contents, including cards and cash, according to the report.
She said that the man then ran from Forest Avenue, eastward on Oak Street, say police.
