Montco Courthouse Package Examined by Bomb Techs

The package was left on a bench outside of the Clerk of Courts office.

The Montgomery county Sheriff’s Department’s Bomb Disposal Unit responded to a “suspicious package” that was found outside of a county courthouse office on Monday, according to The Times Herald.

They examined the envelope after Clerk of Courts employees indicated that it was brought to their office under odd circumstances.

According to security officials, someone visiting the Clerk of Courts office told employees that, outside of the Clerk of Courts office, someone had recently asked them to deliver a package to the office, and they did not agree to do so.

After seeing the package unattended on a bench outside of the office, employees alerted security. Some of the employees were evacuated and the second-floor hallway was separated off.

Bomb squad technicians examined the package, and, after using an x-ray, found that the package contained papers.
