More Info on St. Gabe's Riot on Monday

Lower Providence Police reportedly took two teenagers into custody after their lunch-time fight got out of control.

The Times Herald has more details on today's reported riot at St. Gabriel's Hall in Lower Providence.

According to the Herald, three residents of the Archdiocese-owned youth detention center – a 15-year-old and 17-year-old, both Philadelphia residents, and one unidentified participant – got into a lunchtime fight in the dining hall. The altercation drew a large crowd of additional youth residents which kept the staff from controlling the situation.

Police were called and once on the scene, officers called for additional back-up units. Police from West Norriton, Upper Providence, Upper Merion, Schuylkill and park officers from Valley Forge National Historical Park also responded to the scene.

The 15-year-old is reportedly facing aggravated assault and other charges for hitting two St. Gabriel's staff members and is being housed in the Montgomery County Youth Center pending a hearing. The staff members were reportedly not injured.

The 17-year-old is being charged with disorderly conduct and is currently back at St. Gabriel’s Hall. The third participant is not being charged.
