According to Philly.com, 28-year-old Chrissie Williams, who has now been identified as living on the 900 block of Schuylkill Street in Norristown, was taken into custody in Philadelphia for an alleged parole violation. Willimas allegedly abandoned a toddler outside of Central MHMR on the 1100 block of Powell Street on Tuesday, Aug. 14.

Philadelphia police told Philly.com that Williams was arrested at 10:54 p.m. on Tuesday in the 5900 block of Belmar Street in Southwest Philadelphia. Williams was charged with a parole violation stemming from an abuse of minors charge not related to this incident.

"There is absolutely no reason to ever abandon a child,” Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono told Philly.com. “There are many agencies and individuals out there available to help a parent who feels they can no longer take care of their child. To just leave a child on the street and walk away is one of the most despicable acts I can think of."
