Neighbors Capture Driver Trying to Flee From Crash

A juvenile who crashed into four parked cars on the 600 block of Kohn Street while allegedly driving drunk was aprehended by neighbors when he tried to flee the scene.

According to reports from the Norristown Police Department, neighbors on Kohn Street helped to apprehend an alleged drunk driver who crashed into four parked cars on Saturday night.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Kohn Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, for a report of an accident. On the scene, police met with two neighbors who heard the crash and came outside to witness the driver of a the vehicle who had caused the crash attempting to flee the scene. The witnesses reportedly apprehended the driver and held him until police arrived.

An accident report for the incident indicates that the driver, a 17-year-old juvenile whose identity is being withheld, was driving south on Kohn Street when he crashed into four cars that were parked along the street, causing significant damage. The driver also damaged the car he was driving, making it inoperable.

According to police, the juvenile is being charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license and attempting to flee the scene of an accident.
