There is now a $25,000 reward for information in the case of a Berwyn man and his wife who were bound and robbed by four masked gunmen in a violent home invasion robbery last week in Tredyffrin Township.

According to police the man was surprised by four armed men as he arrived home in Berwyn last Thursday night, Jan. 31. The man and his wife were then bound with duct tape as robbers ransacked their home.

The man was then taken at gunpoint, in his own car to Shuler's Jewelers, the jewelry store he owns in East Norriton, Montgomery County.

Late Tuesday afternoon Tredyffrin Police announced that there is now a $25,000 being offered for information "leading to the arrest and conviction of persons involved in the robbery/kidnapping"

According to Tredyffrin Police, $20,000 of the money is being offered by the Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co. $5,000 is being offered by the Pennsylvania Jeweler’s Association.

Tredyffrin Police say the investigation is continuing with the assistance of the East Norriton Twp. (Montgomery County) Police Department and Chester County Detectives. The investigation has also involved involved the FBI and Pennsylvania State Police.

Police are looking for two cars involved in the robberies. The first is the car the robbers arrived in at the victims' home. The second is the victims' own car which the robbers used as a getaway vehicle from the jewelry store.

Police say the first car is believed to be a silver or blue sedan – possibly a Chrysler Sebring. The victim's car is a white four-door 2012 Volkswagen Passat with a beige interior. The license plate on the VW is Pennsylvania DJM 0696.
