Michael Christopher Holt, 26, formerly of Upper Providence, was sentenced Thursday to five years’ probation and 100 hours of community service after he admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old girl while he worked as a U.S. Army recruiter at .

Holt was ordered to have no contact with the girl as a condition of the sentence. The defense argued on behalf of Holt’s “exemplary service” in the army and asked that he be spared jail time so he would not be dishonorably discharged.

Police have been unable to locate the handgun used by Norristown man Stephen Jefferson, who allegedly and wounded her in the leg. Jefferson reportedly dropped the gun after the shooting.

A Norristown woman has reportedly fallen victim to a money wiring scam. The victim, residing on the 1800 block of Markley Street, was instructed to wire a $99 donation via Western union to “Ram Gupta” in Delhi, India, with the promise that she would be paid $10,000. The call she received had a 202 area code, suggesting it came from the D.C. area or a former resident of D.C. There's no word if this is linked to a . Norristown man Glen Hunter was arrested for alleged drug dealing from a Swede Street residence after police found a half-ounce of crack cocaine in a raid of the property Wednesday. The six officers who raided the property reportedly found Hunter and two others along with over 45 red plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine and more than a dozen 9mm bullets.

The Mercury reports that a court-appointed attorney will defend Brenden Tremayne Pierce, 19, in the alleged in July.

Pierce, who was , has a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 29 at 9 a.m. He is accused of murdering Devlin in retaliation for allegedly setting him up for a home invasion two weeks prior.
