A Norristown man was sentenced to life in prison in the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in Norristown Thursday after being found guilty for putting a price tag on the life on his romantic rival in 2010, according to CBS Philly.
Tyuan Simon was found guilty of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and solicitation to commit murder by a jury this year. Simon supposedly offered $10,000 for the death of Tyree Whiting, his romantic rival.
Whiting was killed by another man outside of Uptown’s Roo House Tavern in Norristown in 2010.
Simon said that he was innocent, but prosecutor Matthew Quigg disagreed.
“The jury saw through that. The jury saw the truth of the witnesses that we put on, saw the credibility that oozed from their testimony, so to speak,” Quigg said to KYW Newsradio.
Simon desires to appeal.
