Norristown Pharmacy Almost Hit Twice in One Day By Alleged Shoplifters

Store Security Halted the Alleged shoplifting.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, store security for the CVS Pharmacy on 701 DeKalb Street sprang into action twice and contacted Norristown police after confronting two alleged shoplifters, according to a police report.

In one incident, Norristown police went to the CVS Pharmacy around 12:45 p.m. after store security alleged that they had found a shoplifter. Police met with security and the accused shoplifter, Joseph Daley, where he was being held in the back. Daley was accused of trying to leave the store without paying for candy, men’s socks and batteries, which he supposedly concealed, according to the Norristown police report. The items totaled at $24.24. Police took Daley into custody to the station, where he was cited and fingerprinted, then released from custody, say police.

On the same day the CVS Pharmacy store security told police that he saw a woman shoplift over-the-counter allergy medicine, according to a Norristown police report. When the woman, Renee Parker, was stopped, she said that she took the medicine. Parker was taken to the police department, then processed and let go with a citation.
