Norristown Police Investigating Baby's Death

Police were called after medics tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate a 5-month old baby girl.

According to The Times Herald, the is investigating the death of a 5-month old baby girl Thursday night.

Officers arrived at the home in the 1000 block of Cherry Street shortly before 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, to find medical personell already on the scene had tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate a 5-month old baby girl who was found not breathing.

The mother had reportedly come home and found the baby not breathing and the father asleep. The mother called 911 and the baby, who had been born prematurely and reportedly had difficulty breathing, was pronounced dead at .

According to the Herald report, police are investigating whether or not the father had accidently rolled onto the child while asleep.
