Norristown Police Warn of Alleged Attempted Child Luring

A man in a vehicle pulled up next to a girl, told her to "'come here,'" then began to exit his vehicle, say police.

Following is a public safety notice from the Norristown Police Department:

Attempted Child Luring 1000 Block of Markley Street

On January 17, 2013 at 7:05 a.m. officers responded to 1000 Block Markley Street for an attempted child luring.  Upon arrival Officers met with the juvenile complainant and her mother.  The juvenile stated that at about 6:50 a.m., she was walking south in the 1000 block of Markley Street on her way to her bus stop.  While walking a white four door older model ford hatch back possibly an Escort, pulled up next to her and stopped.  The male in the passenger seat described as an (older black male 40 to 50 years old wearing a black hoodie or coat) yelled to the victim to "come here" he then opened the door and began to get out of the car.  The victim stated she screamed and ran home advised her mother of the incident and called the police. Police checked the area for the vehicle with negative results.
