Norristown State Hospital Employee Assaulted at Workplace, Say Police

An employee at the psychiatric facility was said to have been injured from behind.

A man is accused of assaulting an employee of the Norristown State Hospital while the two were inside of the hospital, say Pennsylvania State Police.

On Nov. 12 at 8:39 a.m. State Police went to the hospital in Norristown to investigate an alleged assault of an employee.

Jameel Chesson, 30, was accused of hitting the woman’s head while he was behind her. She was taken to a hospital due to injuries to her head, face and neck. It is unclear whether Chesson is a hospital patient.

Chesson was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, harassment and simple assault. After his arraignment he was taken to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, say police. According to the facility’s inmate locator tool, he was still incarcerated as of Thursday afternoon on a $1,000 bond. 

According to online court documents, he also faces charges of aggravated assault and simple assault stemming from a 2012 incident or incidents. Chesson pleaded guilty for an earlier charge of disorderly conduct in 2009, according to the documents.
