Norristown Woman Arrested in Connection With Thursday Morning Audubon Crash

Brittney Yvonne Wallace-Johnson, 22, is facing multiple charges after a crash she was involved in ignited a car fire and shut down a busy intersection Thursday morning.

According to Lower Providence Police, both parties in a vehicle crash that ignited a car fire and shut down the intersection at Trooper and Egypt roads Thursday morning are facing legal repercussions as a result.

Police reports indicate that the accident was caused when 38-year-old Ricardo Hernandez, of Norristown, attempted to make a left turn from westbound Egypt Road into the parking lot of the Arby's at that intersection when his maroon Ford Escort was struck by a Silver Chevy Malibu being driven by 22-year-old Brittney Yvonne Wallace-Johnson, also of Norristown. Wallace-Johnson was travelling eastbound on Egypt at what witnesses say was a high rate of speed.

Police and EMS reportedly arrived on the scene and found Hernandez bleeding from the head and his vehicle smoking. Hernandez was treated at the scene for his injuries and the Lower Providence Fire Department was called to extinguish the car and aid with traffic control.
