Norristown Woman Steals $228 in Cosmetics from Blue Bell Giant: Police

Jessica Gross, 24, of Rockwood Drive, allegedly removed the cosmetics from their packages and placed them in her purse, police said.

Whitpain Township Police said a Norristown woman was charged with retail theft Saturday after allegedly stealing $228.84 worth of cosmetics from Giant Food Store.

Police said officers were called to the store at 1760 DeKalb Pike at 2:54 p.m. where loss prevention had detained Jessica Gross, 24, of the 2400 block of Rockwood Drive.

Gross allegedly attempted to steal the cosmetics by removing them from their packaging and placing them in her purse, police said. Gross then left the store without paying, police said.

Gross was arraigned before District Judge Catherine Hummel Fried, who set bail at $5,000 unsecured, before releasing Gross, police said.
