OMG PD: Cop Charged with Repeat Shoplifting from Grocery Store

This week's stories include a police officer who allegedly shoplifted from a grocery store, a man who had his stolen motorcycle returned just to have it stolen again the next day, and a woman who had her purse stolen while at church.

Cop Charged with Repeat Shoplifting from Grocery Store: According to a report in the Pottstown Patch, a corporal with the Amity Township Police Department has been charged with shoplifting from Giant Food Store twice during the month of June.

The first incident resulted in a $38 loss for the store, but the second incident – which occurred a few days later – resulted in a a $300 loss.

Man Has Stolen Motorcycle Returned by Police, Stolen Again Next Day: According to a report in the Norristown Patch, police returned a motorcycle to it's registered owner, only for it to be stolen again the next day.

Upon retrieving his bike, the owner parked it outside of his apartment and used fork locks to secure it. When he woke the following morning, the bike was gone and the locks had been cut.

Woman Charged with Stealing Church Money, Guitars: According to a report in the Horsham Patch, a woman is facing several charges after she allegedly stole a collection box and three guitars from the Riverside Community Church.

The three guitars were valued at $1,000, and the woman also reportedly made off with $25 from the collection box.

Thief Steals Purse from Woman at Church: According to a report in the Norristown Patch, a woman had her purse stolen from beneath a church pew while she was participating in service.

The thief made off with the woman's passport, identification, checkbook, debit card and her phone.
