Plymouth Twp. Police Searching for Puppy Thief

An unidentified white female accompanied by a small child was caught on camera stealing a puppy from Playful Pets in Conshohocken.

The is searching for a woman who was caught on video stealing a two-month old puppy from Playful Pets in Conshohocken on Wednesday.

According to employees, a white, middle-aged blond female approximately 5'3" in height entered the store at 115 Ridge Pike near shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the company of another female and two small children. The women spent some time playing with the puppies while their children wandered the store.

After checking to see if anyone is watching, the woman can be seen on tape lifting "Pipsqueak," a two-month old, 3-pound black and tan Dachsund out of his bin and placing him in her purse. The child with the woman, approximately 4-years old, witnessed the woman placing the dog in her purse. The woman then took the child by the hand and exited the store.

Store owner Sam Mintz and his employees are anxious for Pipsqueak to be returned and are fearful for his safety.

"Any new puppy can go with stress and that can bring its health down," said employee Lisa Terio. "It could even go into sugar shock... They need to bring the puppy back."
