Plymouth Twp. Police Searching for Puppy Thief

An unidentified white female accompanied by a small child was caught on camera stealing a puppy from Playful Pets in Conshohocken.

The is searching for a woman who was caught on video stealing a two-month old puppy from Playful Pets in Conshohocken on Wednesday.

According to employees, a white, middle-aged blond female approximately 5'3" in height entered the store at 115 Ridge Pike near shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the company of another female and two small children. The women spent some time playing with the puppies while their children wandered the store.

After checking to see if anyone is watching, the woman can be seen on tape lifting "Pipsqueak," a two-month old, 3-pound black and tan Dachsund out of his bin and placing him in her purse. The child with the woman, approximately 4-years old, witnessed the woman placing the dog in her purse. The woman then took the child by the hand and exited the store.

Store owner Sam Mintz and his employees are anxious for Pipsqueak to be returned and are fearful for his safety.

"Any new puppy can go with stress and that can bring its health down," said employee Lisa Terio. "It could even go into sugar shock... They need to bring the puppy back."

You can see the theft and get a good look at the suspect in the video above. Anyone who knows this woman, or has any information about the whereabouts of the puppy, should contact Plymouth Township Police at 610-279-1901.

By the way Kevin we only deal with two breeders in Lancaster, my boss has been dealing with them for 10+ years, I have seen their facilities, and we have even picked up puppies while they were being inspected by the... wait for it... USDA!!!!!!!!! Oh and they past with flying colors!!!!
Beth Ann Neuschwander May 18, 2012 at 08:54 PM
Thank you so much Sandy, I really appreciate you saying that. Not to be all feel-bad-for-me, but I have been bullied all my life, and I am done letting people think that they can push me around and not be pushed back. They are a bunch of bullies and that is all they will ever be!
Beth Ann Neuschwander May 18, 2012 at 08:55 PM
Your very welcome Todd, thank you for your concern about the puppy! We just hope that she learned her lesson!
Sandy Olszta May 18, 2012 at 08:59 PM
I understand 100% but you have to consider the source here. I don't know you personally but I can tell if I had my own business I would have you and Lisa working there. I hope your boss can see the caring and passionate ways in both of you when it comes to the animals. Do you have an update on this case? Has she been caught? Is the puppy ok and safe?
Beth Ann Neuschwander May 18, 2012 at 09:01 PM
The women who stole the puppy was already on probation for shop lifting, so when they found her she was arrested for the puppy thieving, as well as shop lifting again. While at her house they found another dog that she had stolen 3 weeks before she stole ours, so she was also arrested for that. She is in prison now, and her accomplice is paying us restitution. They sold to the puppy to another family, and that is where the puppy is now. We know where he is, but we choose to not take the puppy out of a happy loving family, and let them keep him. So we're not as bad as everyone thinks! :-)
Sandy Olszta May 18, 2012 at 09:07 PM
Ha, great news!!! What a piece of work, to steal a dog in front of your child and then you don't even give it to her, you sell it. She needs her ass kicked. :) I am just glad to hear it all ended well, enjoy your weekend. My husband and I will be in the market for a puppy within the next few months, I will be sure to stop in....
Beth Ann Neuschwander May 18, 2012 at 09:09 PM
Thank you Sandy! We hope to see you soon!
Sandy Olszta May 19, 2012 at 02:20 PM
JLM - its not a question of my considering a rescue, its the regulations that come along with it. My husband and I attempted to adopt a rescue but were turned down because we live in an apartment. Why? Is it not possible to love and care for a dog while living in an apartment? I didn't understand, but that is what we were told and they never even came to see our place, which is on the first floor with a huge fenced in yard. I would consider buying from Playful pets because it comes with no strings attached or let downs. Thanks for the advice though.
Sandy Olszta May 19, 2012 at 03:18 PM
I think you are way out of line first of all. You don't even know me, who are you to pass judgement on what I find important? Then secondly, to offer your help after being rude and obnoxious. I don't deal well with others who think they are better then everyone because of their own outstanding achievements to hear you tell it anyway. How about you try offering help and leave your comments regarding others intentions or sharing your assumptions on those you don't know therefore are not in a position to pass judgement on in the first place. Your opinion can only be based on knowledge. As for your offer to help, thanks but no thanks!
Sandy Olszta May 19, 2012 at 03:39 PM
I was wrong about you. You are not passing judgement you are argumentative bitch. I think my defense took the field because of that. As for you once again wrong judgement call that picture was taken in my office at WORK, something you might want to consider changing. WOW - that is my last opinion of you. JUST WOW. Now you can simply figure out what I am thinking you can do now.
Sandy Olszta May 19, 2012 at 04:04 PM
You do that. I do have issues, make sure to include what my issues are. You. Your passing judgement on someone you don't even know.

I have been in this store, It was horrible and the owner was like a used car salesman. What are you looking for? I can get anything you want. Then tried to talk us into this dirty looking Shih tzu and a toy fox terrier;( that other people were interested in) Yeh, right. The bottom line is there from puppy mills, the puppies are just cash to them. The spcas are around because of them, I bet at least half of the puppies they sell end up at the spca or some rescue. People just buy on impulse and playfull pets isn't looking for the right home for the breed, They just want to sell them fast to make room for more ( $$$$) The manager is just trying to sugarcoat everything, They just tell people what they think they want to hear,Oh, there registered!! Big deal, it means nothing, Don't kid yourself if you buy a puppy and think you saved it, All you did was make room for the next poor one, The adults are the ones that need saving so don't try to justify it, Wake up people! Those poor animals can't speak for themselves and are dependent on us, All puppies are cute but stop and think about the poor ones behind the scenes, It is so sad
Kim June 02, 2012 at 03:49 AM
Oh just shut up! You are just being plain old ridiculous! Grow up! Get a life! Attack someone else with your "beliefs"! It’s incredibly funny how you think that they just want to sell puppies when all their puppies stay until they get sold, unlike Pets Plus, who ships their puppies all over because they don't sell, or they will take them back to the breeders just because they sat around too long. Oh and the SPCA if their dogs sit around too long, they kill them! So to be honest with you, you have every right to "believe" whatever you want, but you don't however have the right to push those "beliefs" on others, and try to do it while lying about what you’re talking about. Like what Sandy said, you are speaking of unfounded truths and generalizing this store with all puppy stores, which it is not, it is a small mom and pop shop that is not a franchise that buys puppies in mass quantity and then ships them out to different places, they only care about the money! This store is unbelievably clean, the puppies are all healthy, the puppies are all clean, and the people who work there are amazing! Just because you think something is true doesn’t mean it is! So please stop bullying these poor people with your ridiculous bluster!
Kim June 04, 2012 at 03:52 PM
You know what JML, you are doing THE EXACT SAME THING! You come on here and shove your "beliefs" down peoples throat by bashing wonderful stores like this! So right back at ya sweet heart!
Kim June 04, 2012 at 05:17 PM
Listen hunny! The only reason I came on here and posted anything in the first place is because of people like you who come on here and bully these poor people! They are doing NOTHING wrong! It is not their fault that your so called "rescues" kill the dogs! It has nothing to do with over population, they get thousnads of dollars worth of donations, they could possibly build a place for these dogs to go! And you know what else, I have been to SPCA's where they treat the dogs so poorly, the dogs always have pee and poop all over them at any given time. They are aggressively barking in their cages and several have tried to bite me or my children! These people never let these dogs out and run, they are caught in these cages all day! At least Playful Pets takes better care of their puppies!
Kim June 04, 2012 at 05:27 PM
My newphew worked for an SPCA and he has witnessed these people killing perfectly healthy puppies just because they didn't like the person who brought them in! Them made him kill a dog because he liked it and they don't like him! The witnessed multiple SPCA's do this and also he witnessed many of them inject the dog, leave the room and then let it walk around the room until it stoked out and died! So let me tell you something about things that you know nothing about!
Kim June 04, 2012 at 07:37 PM
Wow this is not beth, I am Kimberly Marie and she knows these stories because I told them to her! I have gone to rescue after rescue looking for a dog, after they reject me over and over again because I have young children, I went to pet stores to try to find a puppy. I found playful pets and have bought three dogs from them so far and I am going to keep doing so! I came to realize that when I rescue a dog its rescuing it from the people at the SPCA! I have become friends with these people because I have gotten my dogs from there and they are amazing! I stop back there every once and a while to see them and it is appauling how people like you come on here and do this shit! Leave them alone! Get a life!
Kim June 04, 2012 at 07:40 PM
JML you sure like to be wrong a lot!
JLM June 04, 2012 at 08:17 PM
Rescues don't kill dogs. They RESCUE THEM from people like you who are so low on the smart scale that they can't even spell my initials properly, just like Beth. Please stop instigating an argument with me it's so obvious you WANT to continue this fight but you are so clueless and close minded that I have given up. I hope you are satisfied with yourself. You like buying puppies while others die. You are uninformed about rescues and the whole process. You win "hunny."
JLM June 04, 2012 at 08:25 PM
I have been arguing with Beth's other personality! You really need help Beth
Kim June 04, 2012 at 08:30 PM
Believe whatever you want too! I'm not beth but I know her and you doing this to her and her store is upsetting! Don't be angry and take your agression out on me, or her! Just go somewhere else where people give a shit about what you think!
lizanne mckay June 14, 2012 at 04:34 PM
TO KIM, BETH ANN OR KIMBERLY MARIE WHICHEVER PERSONALITY YOU ARE........Good come back--"just shut up", "grow up"and "get a life"What are you 12?And whose bullying who?Why is it so funny that I think you want to sell puppies? isn't that the stores main goal? Thats why there in business, right? And bottom line ;Pets plus is a pet store just like you. You make no sense. It's like comparing oranges to tangerines, You talk about the spca; well its there because of places like playful pets and pets plus. Most of the dogs are there because they weren't trained, so people give them up and go back to the pet store and get johnny a new puppy or aggressive issues because they were taken away from there mother to soon or were kept unsocialized in a barn, etc Pet stores are the perfect place for impulse buyers. All the puppies are so cute or there just saving them. And where do they end up" at the spca or a rescue if they are lucky, Also. I'm not lying, I WAS THERE ! I SAW WHAT I SAW AND SPOKE TO THE OWNER! Actually, I know someone else who was there and saw a dead puppy in the pen, Did you even get you GED because you sound like a moran. I am sure there is a very good reason you were turned down by rescues but the pet store didn' t turn you down, did they? Why, because $$$$.The spca's that you describe sound like This pet store you like so much. Also Why is "YOUR NEPHEW" working for multiple spca's? Especially if they are so bad. Is he (or really you) an idiot? You seem so angry,Why?
Beth Ann Neuschwander June 14, 2012 at 06:19 PM
Ok I wasn't going to jump in because I actually enjoyed having someone stand up for me and my store, but you know what this is getting crazy! Kim is a good person and I will not have you people speak to her in that way. Two, Kimberly and I are two separate people who feel the same way! If what you are saying is that we are the same person then I guess that you, Kevin, and JLM are all the same person as well each one is a different personality of the same person! To be honest with you I don't care if you were ever in my store or what you think my boss was doing. You came in here with a pair of blinders on and only saw what you wanted to see. All the puppies that I have in this store are well socialized, happy, healthy puppies. All of our puppies get the run of the floor every single day, they get the chance to play with children of all ages, and adults of all ages as well. Not only that but I personally make sure that they do not develop "aggressive" nature when it comes to anything. I pet them while they are eating, take away their food bowl to see how they react. I play with them with toys, by themselves and with other puppies, also to see how they react. So once again you have no idea what you are talking about! And I would love to talk to your imaginary friend who saw this "dead puppy" because that is another one of your lies, NEVER HAVE WE EVER had a dead puppy in this store EVER! So to say so is lying, which makes you a liar!
Beth Ann Neuschwander June 14, 2012 at 06:21 PM
I don’t understand why you people come on here just to keep this going! Get yourselves all worked up if you want to, I will defend this store until the day I die! All I have to say is don’t judge other people until you take a long hard look at yourself first! Stop coming on here and saying this horrid and nasty untrue things about me or my boss or Kim because you don't know anything about any of us! You believe what you want, whatever makes you sleep better at night, but don't think that what you say if true, BECAUSE ITS NOT!
JLM June 14, 2012 at 06:49 PM
Please consider who you are dealing with Lizanne...its really not worth your energy when trying to argue with a person who has multiple personalities. Someone once said to me " dont ever expect an insane person to do sane things" besides i dont think the personalities actually communicate with eachother so its really a waste of your time :)
lizanne mckay June 15, 2012 at 03:11 AM
Yes, It is a waste of my time and energy dealing with them. Its really sad in this day and age that there are people that still don't get it. But I won't stop because someone has to speak for those that can't speak for themselves. These are the kinds of people you deal with who are involved with puppy mills and pet shops. There not the sharpest tool in the shed. Just check out there website; its like an add for used cars "LET's MAKE A DEAL" "ONLY *899", etc It;s just pathetic. They don't even know what there talking about ; especially about mixed breeds. They just want to push them. Wow,
Michelle Trilumo July 04, 2012 at 05:27 PM
I agree. who the hell is this person lizanne? She sounds so angry. And she talks about you not having your GED but she can't even spell. NO worries probably some old woman with NO LIFE. !!!!
joe July 20, 2012 at 08:44 PM
lizanne or whatever your name is.......there not the sharpest tool in the shed? Check your english idiot!

I should have READ your negative reviews before going there and losing over one thousand dollars and the dog. with your intimidation and careless manner for the puppies or clients. YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY. MY STORY: im out over a grand, plus they have the puppy. SOLD ME A PUPPY WITH A BROKEN LEG, REFUSED REFUND AND HAS PUPPY. BROUGHT PUPPY BACK IN 2 .5 HOURS SAME DAY!! EXTREMLY RUDE, Even cursed- Clearly the reason they didnt alow me to put her on the floor to run around there, was they were aware she had a broken leg, or some leg issue. I was told I couldnt place her on the floor due to their house dog who roamed freely and was aggressive. SO HEART BREAKING. As soon as I got home and set her down I saw the issue, called a friend who is a retired 20+ year dog trainer and experienced with vets for the United States Army, he stayed with me an hour at my house or so, and in the end we decided to sadly take her back and get my $1,029.99 back. (MGR BETH ANN) REFUSED to give me my money back,. I heard the young girl and the other woman, whispered A CUSTOMER DROPPED A DOG IN THE STORE THE DAY PRIOR. Im assuming it was this poor puppy I bought and they knew and just wanted the money and did not disclose the issue. BETHANN WAS Irrate, intimidated me-I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE!!!
Carolann At Cfsbooks April 30, 2013 at 06:46 AM
