Police Arrest Naked Man Tuesday Night

The man was reportedly running through the streets, attempting to gain access to a vehicle.

Patch readers reported some unusual police activity in the 200 block of West Spruce Street Tuesday night. A Norristown Patch Facebook user noted that neighbors were reporting a "crazy naked guy running through the streets" in the area. As it turns out, that unusual report was not unfounded.

According to a report from the Norristown Police Department, officers responded to the area at approximately 10:53 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, for a report of a naked man allegedly trying to gain entry to vehicles in the neighborhood. On arrival, police encountered the naked black male and ordered the man to the ground. As officers were handcuffing the man to take him into custody, they reportedly smelled an odor of PCP.

Police requested EMS to the scene and the man was transported to Einstein Medical Center Montgomery for treatment. There, he was released from police custody and restrained by hospital security in the care of medical personnel.
