According to reports from the , officers responded to the 700 block of Stanbridge Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Friday, June 22, for a report of a shooting.
On the scene, police made contact with the victim's wife who directed police to her husband lying on the kitchen floor of their home at 750 Stanbridge Street. Officers reportedly found the 23-year-old black male lying on the floor in a large pool of blood, wearing only boxer shorts. The victim was conscious and reportedly told police that he did not know the identity of the man who shot him. Police say the man was trying to eject people who had been visiting his wife from the home and as he was following two of the males out, one reportedly turned and fired one shot, hitting him in the right thigh.
Other witnesses on the scene reportedly told police that the victim had picked up a knife and was swinging it at the people in the house yelling, "the party's over." A witness told police that the shooter asked the victim to follow him outside and then shot him and fled on foot.
Police reportedly placed the victim's plaid boxer shorts and a kitchen steak knife into evidence.
The victim was flown by medevac to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is currently being treated and is listed in good condition.
Police have reportedly identified the shooter, but have not confirmed whether or not the suspect is in custody.
