Police Impersonator Sought by Lower Providence Authorities

Police are looking for a man they say used a blue mounted dashboard light in his car to pull a local woman over on Evansburg Road in Collegeville.

Authorities are currently seeking information about an alleged police impersonator possibly operating in the area.

According to the Lower Providence Police Department, an area woman was driving on Evansburg Road in Collegeville on Monday, Feb. 11, at approximately 9 p.m. when she was stopped by a man driving a small four-door vehicle with a blue dashboard-mounted light. The man reportedly activated his light and the woman pulled into a parking area at Evansburg Road and Germantown Pike.

The man, described as a white male in his fifties with short brown hair, was wearing a dark uniform with a patch on the sleeve, according to police. He did not show a badge. According to police, the man only engaged the woman in conversation.
