Police Investigating a Reported Shooting Find Vehicle Damaged by Bullet

Thirteen bullet casings and bullet fragments were recovered from the scene.

Norristown police responded to a call about a shooting on Willow Street to find a bullet lodged in the seat of a Chevrolet Venture, according to a report.

On Nov. 10 around 12:07 a.m. police went to the 1000 block of Willow Street to see about an alleged shooting, according to a Norristown police report. The only people on the block were two Roo House Bar customers who said that they did not know of a shooting.

Police found a grey Chevrolet Venture on the west side of the block that had a bullet hole in its windshield. After contacting the vehicle’s owner, police were able to find a bullet stuck in the headrest of a seat in the third row of the driver’s side, say police. The bullet could not be obtained.

Police also found 13 shell casings made of brass on the pavement on the same block, according to the report. At the time the bullets seemed to be 9mm but that was not confirmed. Three bullet fragments were found. All were collected for evidence.

Someone called the county dispatch and said that, while he did not see the shooting, he did see a light-skinned African American man who ran from the Elm Street scene.  The caller also said that the man inserted a gun into his waistband, and that he was about 6 feet tall and wore black jeans and a grey hoodie. Police searched the area with no results.
