Police Investigating Another East End Shooting on Wednesday

Several shots were reportedly fired in the 200 block of Spruce Street.

According to The Times Herald, less than 18 hours before a similar incident that happened less than four blocks away, police are once again investigating a report of shots fired on the East End – this time in the 200 block of East Spruce Street.

Police reportedly responded to the area at approximately 6:15 p.m. after a caller reported hearing six shots fired. Officer recovered six shell casings and a cell phone from the scene, and reportedly found a bullet hole through an apartment window and blood on the front steps of one building in the area.

According to the Herald, an 11-year-old witness told police he thought he saw at least one man running from the scene holding his leg as though he'd been shot. Police reportedly notified area hospitals and are continuing to investigate the incident.

Police responded to the area of Arch and East Oak streets not four blocks away shortly after midnight on Wednesday for a report of shots fired in that area. There, officers recovered 30 spent shell casings from at least three different types of weapons.

Norristown sucks December 21, 2012 at 02:15 AM
This is why gun laws need to be harsher. With gun laws this would not happen. Lol

There a lot of reasons why these things happen. Drug dealing, lack of parental control are just two of them. Norristown is not what it was like 40-50 years ago. My children grew up in Norristown and they played outside in the streets and no one bothered them. Of course, I kept tabs on them and knew where they were and what they were doing. It is not a safe place now!
