UPDATE: [1/4/13; 9:15 a.m.] Authorities are investigating a drive-by shooting in the area of West Oak and Kohn streets in Norristown Thursday night that sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his stomach area, but say the victim is not cooperating with their investigation.
"[The victim] is not cooperating," said Corporal Adam Schurr, a detective with the Norristown Police Department. "He refused to give any information to police on the scene."
Cpl. Schurr added that the investigation into last night's shooting, like others in recent weeks, is hampered by a lack of witnesses willing to talk about what they saw.
"There were people out there who wouldn't talk to the police," said Cpl. Schurr. "They just wouldn't talk to police. We don't have any information at this point."
Cpl. Schurr couldn't comment on whether authorities believe Thursday night's shooting is related to other recent shootings in Norristown.
The victim is reportedly still hospitalized, though his current condition is still unknown. Detectives plan to interview the victim further as soon as they are able.
Police say they have no suspects at this time.

UPDATE: [1/3/13; 10:55 p.m.] According to The Times Herald, the victim of tonight's shooting had recently been released from prison and was walking or standing with three others when he was shot in the midsection by an unidentified suspect or suspects who drove up in a car.
Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono told the Herald that the victim was not being cooperative at the scene but detectives would continue to interview him at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was taken. His injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.
Chief Bono could not comment on whether the incident might be related to other recent shootings in Norristown, but told the Herald that detectives would, "certainly look into that possibility."
According to Chief Bono, witnesses reported hearing the shots, but no one has come forward with any eyewitness accounts.

Multiple sources are reporting a drive by shooting Thursday evening in the area of West Oak and Kohn Streets.
Initial reports came in shortly after 8 p.m. that police were on the scene with a male victim in his early 20s suffering from a gunshot wound to his side.
According to The Times Herald's Twitter feed, the victim reported he was walking in the area and someone shot him. More than one vehicle may reportedly be involved in the incident. The Herald also reported that three males were seen running east on Oak Street following the incident.
According to the Breaking News Network, the victim was flown by medevac to a hospital for treatment of his wounds.

1- The cops are the ones RISKING THEIR LIVES to try and stop these black kids from being killed. They respond to calls knowing that at any second they will be shot and killed themselves. And for what? For a bunch of people who won't even offer up any information about who, what, where and why. If those involved won't talk, how is that the cops fault?! 2- Everyone upset that the cops aren't doing enough..what do you want them to do? Yeah, they know the problem areas, but other than driving up and down have making themselves seen, there isnt anything else they can do without EVIDENCE and WITNESSES which no one wants to provide. So unless you want them to begin racially profiling people, frisking folks just for being in a "bad part of town", or pulling you over because you "look suspicious", then there isn't much else they can do without your cooperation.
Now to answer your statement about trying to turn norristown white again, i can assure you people would sleep peacful at night if that was the case. No shootings, slinging drugs, walking around pants to the ground without a single ounce of respect! Stop blaming everyone else and take a look at your own race, its out of control!!!!!!!
If one group of people votes 98% for someone just because of 50% of that person's skin is the same, who are the racists?
Why is it that white people assume that black people voted for Obama just because he's black. If we were to follow that logic we could assume that all of the white people that have ever voted against President Obama, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton during their presidential runs are racist also. Why is it that everytime one non-white person does something wrong their entire race/religion gets charged for it? But, the Oklahoma City bomber was white, the Atlanta Olympics bomber was white, over 80% of serial killers are white, and majority of violent crimes are commited by white people. Muslims aren't the biggest groups of terrorist in the world white poeple are. White people have taught the world to solve their issues with violence. They have been doing the same thing since colonization, "beleive in what we beleive in or we'll kill you!"
if we do away with section 8 housing crime would plummet.
