Police: Motorist Caught with Secret ‘007’ Stash of Heroin

According to Lower Providence Police, 24-year-old Richard Marshall Leibried, Jr. was pulled over for erratic driving and found to be in possession of several small bags of heroin, each stamped with “007,” as well as a needle in his sock.

Leibried, of the 1700 block of Meadowview Lane in Mont Clare, Pa., was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and other related charges.

According to police, on Dec. 14, at approximately 8 p.m., Cpl. Michael Slattery was on routine patrol, traveling eastbound in the area of the 2600 block of Egypt Road when he observed a vehicle travelling west and drifting off to the shoulder before abruptly coming back onto the roadway and then drifting into the eastbound traveling lane.

Slattery conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle identified Leibried, who was reported to have difficulty producing his identification. The officer noted that an odor of alcohol was detected.

Leibried reportedly submitted to a field sobriety test, resulting in the Slattery’s judgment that Leibried was incapable of safe driving. While conducting the test, the officer reportedly observed several small, blue baggies on the floor of the vehicle.  According to the report, each baggie held, white powdery substances, which was later tested and found to be heroin.

When asked if he had any more narcotics with him, Leibried told police that he had hidden a needle in his left sock. The police report states that several more baggies, each stamped with “007” were found bundled with the needle.

A supplemental police report described the needle as a hypodermic needle, which was uncapped. This report noted that another officer observed Leibried with fresh blood stains on his right hand.  

Leibried was transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
