Original story:

Norristown Police are searching for a suspect in the Dec. 29 robbery of the BP Gas Station at Main and Markley who they say may also be responsible for a string of recent knife-point robberies in Norristown and the surrounding area.

According to a report from the Norristown Police Department, officers responded to the BP Gas Station at approximately 5:51 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29 for a report of a robbery at knife point. On the scene, police spoke with the victim, an employee of the store who stated that man entered the store at approximately 5:36 a.m. and asked several times to be shown phone chargers stored in front of the locked booth. The store employee reportedly left and re-entered the booth several times and on the third time, the suspect allegedly rushed him, pushed past him into the booth at knife point and grabbed two boxes filled with cash. The suspect reportedly exited the store at 5:41 a.m., running east on Main Street. According to the employee, the boxes contained approximately $300 in cash.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s to mid-30s, bald, with a mustache, approximately 6' tall with a medium build. He was wearing a bark Yankees baseball cap, black puffy jacket, dark pants and dark sneakers with white soles and stripes.

Police say the suspect may be the same man responsible for the New Year's Day knife-point robbery of the American Gasoline Store at 1401 Ridge Pike in Plymouth.

According to East Norriton Police, Sally's Beauty Supply in East Norriton was also held up at knife-point on Wednesday, Jan. 2, but the description of the suspect in that incident may not match the suspect in the other robberies.

Anyone with information on the suspect should call the Norristown Police Department at 610-270-0977.

[CORRECTION: Earlier reports indicated another knife-point robbery of the 7-Eleven on East Johnson Highway. Those reports were incorrect. The story has been update to reflect new information.]
