Robberies, Burglary Reported in Norristown

Reports from the Norristown Police Department.

The following items contain information provided by the Norristown Police Department. Arrests, where they are mentioned, do not indicate conviction.

Robbery: On June 14 at 9:08 p.m., police responded to the area of Main and Swede streets for a report of a disturbance. 
Once on scene, police encountered a female victim who stated that she had been attacked by her estranged mother, who stole her purse and its contents,  police said. The victim stated that she did not know where her mother lived, and that her mother was dressed in "full Muslim garb" exposing only her eyes.
Police were unable to locate the suspect.

Robbery: On June 14 at 11 p.m., police responded to the area of Main and Swede streets for a report of a robbery.
Once on scene, police encountered a male victim who stated that he was approached by a black male between the ages of 17 and 18-years-old, who said "I'll kill you if you don't give me your money," the report states. The victim then handed over $23 dollars to the man, who never displayed a weapon, but kept one hand in his pocket to act as if he had one.

Burglary: On June 14 at 10:45 p.m., police responded to the unit block of East Elm Street for a report of a burglary.
The victim told police that he was forced to vacate his apartment on May 5, after Code Enforcement condemned the property, the report states. The victim then stated that as he was walking by the apartment – which had been locked – he noticed the door was now open, police said.
The report states that someone had forced open the rear door to the apartment, stealing a plasma television, a DVD player and a projection television. The victim was then instructed to remove all remaining valuables from the apartment, according to the report.

Burglary: On June 15 at 10:28 p.m., police responded to the 1000 block of Dekalb Street for a report of a robbery.
There they encountered a male victim, who was bleeding from multiple spots on his face and head, police said. The victim stated that he was robbed by three black males at gunpoint, who took his cell phone and wallet. The victim added that he engaged in a fight with the three men, which resulted in the wounds to his face and head, the report states.

The men were described as black males between the ages of 14 and 24-years-old, with two of them wearing white t-shirts and shorts, and the third wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts.
EMS was dispatched to the scene, but the victim declined to be treated.
