Sandy Street Apartment Burglarized, Ransacked, Police Say

Stolen items were worth roughly $2,200.

Norristown Police are investigating the report of a burglary on the 700 block of Sandy Street, during which a residence was ransacked.

Between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday, unknown individuals broke into an apartment at 721 Sandy Street and roughly $2,200 in items was stolen from the residence, police said.

Police stated there was severe damage to the doorknob, dead bolt and door frame, but the victim said the damage was there before he moved in.

The victim added that a small porcelain piggy bank was tampered with, and probably contained fresh fingerprints of the burglar, police said.

According to police, there were no witnesses.
